Islamabad Model College for Boys H-9, Islamabad (Federal Govt. College Men, H-9 Islamabad) is one of the oldest institutions of the federal capital. It was founded in 1965. In 1974, Federal Govt. took over administrative control of this college. It is situated on the main road linking the twin cities and is easily accessible by public transport. Its goal is to impart quality education, in financially accommodating atmosphere and with a view to induct those also whose performance has been mediocre at matriculation level. The students from the twin cities, rural areas of Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and from all the four provinces of Islamic Republic of Pakistan join this college and equip themselves with education, according to the job market trends, in a healthy and caring atmosphere so that they become skilled, useful and proud Pakistanis. The college has a vast area (47 acres) a very beautiful and vast campus with spacious classrooms, a library, laboratories, administrative and academic blocks and an auditorium. A Gymnastic stadium, football and Hockey grounds, Basketball court and magnificent mosque are the unique features of this initiation.
The college showed general improvement in the board / University examinations. The college has also shown excellent performance in co-curricular activities. College has won trophies and over all championship in the federal board of intermediate & secondary education, Islamabad. The college has more than 100 teachers some of them are foreign qualified and of national and international repute. The college is affiliated with the federal board of intermediate & secondary education Islamabad at intermediate level, and with Quaid-i-Azam University at degree level. It offers course in humanities, pre-medical. Pre-engineering, general science and computer as subject at enter and degree level.
